Apricale is one of the most picturesque towns in Italy. Located high in the Nervia Valley between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps, much of the town dates back to the 1200s. Picasso once lived here, trading meals and lodging for paintings. I stayed for a week, paid in euros and took photographs.
