We were on a sea kayaking and hiking trip in Acadia. On our last day, I tried to photograph dramatic seascapes. Neither the light nor the sea cooperated. On a damp October morning along the Maine coast, I refocused my eyes and camera from the sea to the rocks and plants at my feet.
